Richard Chamberlain - "King of the Miniseries" - passed yesterday days before his 91st birthday. For a lot of us GenXers he symbolized a time when one tv in the house meant young kids were watching programming we had no business watching. But as long as we remained quiet and near invisible, we got to stick around close enough to the TV set to change the channel, mess with the rabbit ears, or adjust the volume. I remember Thorn Birds, Shogun, and so many other miniseries that took up an entire week of evenings. Rest in peace...
